I am in my late 30s, and for the last ten years as poor dietary and lifestyle choices began to catch up with me, I started to shift the way I ate and thought about food and health in general. As I'm sure is the case with many of you, I tried many different alternatives - some of them worked better than others. I switched from regular milk to almond or coconut milk, tried being vegan for about 3 days, cut out all grains and went full paleo, tried Whole 30, began taking supplements, sought out alternative healthcare, etc, etc, etc.
Although not all of these things worked for me, the trial and error of the process helped get me to where I am today. I figured out that I can eat bread comfortably as long as I make it at home using good flour, for example. I have found that foods made with seed oils make me feel terrible. Red meat makes me feel amazing. Results will be different for different people, but don't be afraid to seek out information and take control of your own health.
The same goes for skincare. Once I started seeking out alternatives for what I put in my body, I became more aware of what put on my body in the form of makeup, skincare, and even the cleaning products that come into contact with our skin on a daily basis.
Right now it seems that the best options for skincare are those made by small companies who have made it their passion to provide a product that is completely non-toxic and not only works, but is healing as well. Even if you don't ultimately purchase from Clara and Fritz, I invite you to research and seek out the healthier alternatives wherever you may find them.
