In order to do that, we source all of our tallow from farms in the United States, and we ensure the best possible process to create beautiful products for your skin. All of our tallow is 100% grass-fed and finished suet tallow. Every batch of tallow balm is handmade in-house, and we use all-natural ingredients to achieve the results that you love.
All of our tallow is 100% grass-fed and finished. What does this mean, and why is it important?
Grass-fed and finished means that the cattle that our tallow comes from are fed only grass, never grain-fed, right up to the finishing period before processing. This ensures the tallow has a natural fat composition superior to grain-fed cows.
Where is our tallow from and how do we know the product is trustworthy?
We source all of our tallow from farms in the USA, and every tallow product we sell is handmade in small batches by us. We are a small, family-owned business, and every single product that is made by us is produced in one building, located in Mullica Hill, NJ. We create the recipes that you love for your skin, and carefully and meticulously make every batch, beginning to end, ensuring quality and consistency. We even fill and label our jars by hand!
Our tallow is made from suet. What is that, and why is it important?
Suet is the fat that surrounds an animal’s kidneys and other internal organs. Because of where it’s located in the body, suet fat has a higher concentration of vitamins like A, D, E, and K, all essential for healthy skin, as well as conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and omega-3 fatty acids, which reduce inflammation and help promote healing. On top of the nutrient benefits, using suet results in a product that is smoother, less greasy, and more easily absorbed by the skin than fat from other parts of the body.
Our tallow is never bleached, is BHT free, and contains no unnatural deodorizers.
This means that our products are the purest they can be. We do not use chemical bleaching, deodorizing agents, or high heat and pressured refining, which would leave the tallow stripped of its natural nutrients and vitamins that make it so nourishing for your skin. Because we don’t chemically deodorize our tallow, it may have a light, natural scent, however, the scent is never overwhelming. In our scented products, we use only natural ingredients and essential oils - never any artificial scents. Our best selling Unscented Whipped Tallow Balm has only two ingredients: 100% grass-fed and finished beef tallow and organic olive oil. That’s it!
